Dominic Solanke stunned the home supporters when he nodded home the opener in the 12th minute.
Liverpool struck back with three goals before the break through Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo.
Mohamed Salah scored the fourth for Arne Slot’s side in the 63rd minute, ending his six-match scoring drought.
