We have no choice but to act in our own best interests since our dear Nigeria has become a frightening place. There is no sign of the energy that was previously invested. For how could a nation that had enjoyed so many advantages in elevating herself to such a position suddenly become the shadow of her former self? Where did we make a mistake? What is the reason behind our issue? Why haven’t the root causes of the issue been resolved yet? And how can we solve the issue without even hurting the next generation?
Youths are the future’s markers and those who determine whether the nation’s future is headed in the right direction or not. Conversely, youth refers to a person’s youthful state of existence, particularly the time between childhood and adulthood. On the other hand, a nation’s greatness only starts to reach a very high degree when its youth follow its path forward. They undoubtedly support the nation’s pillars and are responsible for all of its developments.
Meanwhile, As a youth, you should have the utmost regard for the development of your nation and understand what you can do to better both yourself and your country because the current state of affairs is too much to handle. Your autonomy will be respected. It has been some time since Muhammad Buhari, the immediate past president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, declared, “There is no longer any work for the youths, regardless of whether they attend the best university in the world, a state, federal, or private institution. Because there are no longer any vacancies in the state, local, or federal governments.” Given the guidance provided by the immediate president regarding the direction and course of this nation, why do you continue to look for government employment opportunities everywhere? Wouldn’t you heard from him (the immediate past president) the positive outcomes you need to hear? If you don’t mind, have you seen any members of your family working for the government nowadays, even though some fortunate ones still receive government jobs? In other words, wealth enables wealth, which is why the impoverished continue to decline—unfear!
However, research have shown us that Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa, with a rapidly expanding population of almost 240 million. Among other reasons, this has contributed to the ongoing burden of unemployment, with the labor dependency ratio predicted to reach 2.6 percent in 2022. It was predicted that year (2022), that there would be an increase in the labor force to over 67 million. In addition to the growing number of people who are employed, over 6.3 million people are expected to be unemployed in 2021. Nigeria’s unemployment rate has generally risen significantly, reaching 9% in 2020. In an effort to lower the nation’s unemployment rate, the government declared in February 2022 that it had added 750,000 jobs. Therefore, the pertinent questions are: To whom was the job assigned? Have any businesses opened their names in relation to the federal or state governments since February 2022? Youths, don’t fall for their lies; there are several lies hidden beneath their promises. Don’t be duped by what they say. Remain vigilant and don’t let their polite remarks take you by surprise!
In the meantime, social media has made a lot of progress in making an impact that can aid today’s youth in building their own empires. There are many talents available; all you need to do is take advantage of them by learning them and leading a successful life. The ability to apply knowledge efficiently and willingly in execution or performance is referred to as skills. These are the kinds of skills that are learnable and will be extremely valuable this time around: blogging, writing, selling cards, Bitcoin, and so forth. If youths can become proficient in all of these areas, there will be less talk about unemployment in the nation and everyone will be able to find employment on their own, which will be higher paying and more fulfilling than the government jobs you’re searching everywhere. In summary, youths desperately need money. But instead of settling into collecting, strive to be a maker. Construct your business from the ground up. Because building oneself is far preferable to being someone else’s slave. Actually, there are times when it’s enough to stay under someone’s roof, but exercise caution in order to build up your own empire. Youth, let’s exercise caution—scammers are out there. Avoid scammers and instead go to reliable sources if you want to invest. Be clever. It’s better and more important to work on building your own empire rather than creating or expanding someone else’s.
