By Gracious Akujobi Kano Pillars Football Club has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with G SPORTS Middle East.
The club chairman, Abba Yola, who disclosed this said the partnership covers a period of five years and it gives G Sports the commercial rights and mandate to obtain and manage all kinds of sponsorships, including media marketing, merchandising, food and beverage, hospital concept and retail alliance.
To this end, the phase one of the MOU has been achieved by endorsing Kappa Sports Wears, Italy as the official sports company that will kit Kano Pillars FC.
The kitting deal, Mr. Yola said is worth One million US Dollars ($1,000,000) and is for the domestic league alone beginning from 2013/2014 season.
The Chairman, who was excited by the contract, said Kano Pillars is a brand that will justify any investment, stressing that apart from being the current domestic league champion in Nigeria, the club has the largest fan base in the country.
Yola who led the delegation to signs the MOU, expressed Kano State Government’s appreciation to the partners G Sports and Kappa for identifying with it in the development of the club.
While assuring the partners of Kano Pillars readiness to fulfill its own side of the partnership, Yola also expressed hope that G Sport will meet the financial target of two million dollars ($2,000,000) annually as sponsorship package for five years.
