Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has responded fiercely to Tanzanian media personality Mage Kimambi, who recently advised Priscilla Ojo and her husband, singer Juma Jux, to reduce their online presence amid political unrest in Tanzania.
Kimambi, in a social media post, had urged the couple to stay off the public radar for at least five months, warning that their frequent posts could further inflame tensions in the country.
Unhappy with the statement, Iyabo Ojo took to Instagram to defend her daughter, accusing Kimambi of overstepping boundaries and making baseless remarks.

“I’m appalled by your audacity! Referring to my daughter and her husband in such a manner, calling their content stupīd, and trying to drum fear and intimidation is unacceptable. As a parent, I’ve taught her to be confident and authentic,” Iyabo wrote.
Addressing speculation surrounding the funding of Priscilla and Juma Jux’s wedding events, she clarified that it was fully handled by her family and rooted in cultural tradition.
“Regarding the wedding rumours, it’s not your government that gave us money; it’s a cultural tradition in my family,” she stated.
Reaffirming her identity as an activist, Iyabo added that she believes in standing for her values without resorting to insults or personal attacks. “I’m an activist, and as one, I stand by my principles and fight for what I believe in, without insulting anyone or targeting anyone. True leadership requires presence and courage,” she added.
In her closing remarks, Iyabo firmly warned Kimambi to stay out of her daughter’s affairs: “Keep my daughter out of your affairs. She’ll post what she likes, when, and how she likes. She doesn’t need you to love her. She is very loved and well-loved. We protect our own. Never forget that.”
