Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has called on pastors to recognise situations that require practical solutions rather than relying solely on spiritual interventions.
Njoku made the appeal in a social media post where she encouraged clergymen to use their platforms to promote responsibility, action and positive change.
According to the actress, some pastors are already using their influence to encourage people to take practical steps towards addressing problems.
She therefore urged the public to recognise and support such religious leaders by giving greater attention to their messages.
“Stop offering spiritual solutions to problems that require practical action. There are still good pastors using their platforms to encourage responsibility, action and positive change.
Let’s deliberately celebrate and amplify them”.
The actress had previously criticised Christians who she said often weaponise scriptures when responding to criticism of religious leaders.
Prompt News reports Njoku explained that the biblical expression “touch not my anointed” should apply when someone is falsely accused, lied against or deliberately targeted.

She also stressed that religious leaders, like everyone else, are not perfect and should be willing to accept responsibility for their actions.
Njoku called for people to show themselves the same understanding and grace they would expect from others, while encouraging accountability among Christians and religious leaders.
