Serie B club Benevento have announced the signing of Nigerian striker David Okereke, Prompt News Online reports.
Okereke put pen paper on a two-year contract with the option of another year.
Okereke opted for a move to Benevento despite attracting interest from clubs in Turkey, Major League Soccer (MLS), Belgium, as well as Italian side Sampdoria.
The forward could make his debut for Benevento in Friday’s Coppa Italia clash against Fiorentina.
The former Nigeria U-23 international spent last season on loan at Turkish Super Lig outfit Gaziantep.
He enjoyed a productive campaign with the Falcons, scoring nine goals in 29 league appearances.
Benevento secured promotion to Serie B last season.
