Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold, widely known as AG Baby, has expressed displeasure over Wema Bank’s use of his “first-class giveaway” concept in a recent advertisement.
The music star had earlier launched a campaign to reward graduates who earned first-class degrees with cash gifts—an initiative that quickly gained attention and praise across social media.
Shortly after, Wema Bank rolled out a promo that seemed to tap into the same idea, prompting Adekunle Gold to react.

The advert reads:
“AG Baby no send you first class gift? No worries, ALAT’s got you covered. Enjoy up to 70% off your favorite brands this weekend via eVouchers on the ALAT app – it’s no crime to not have a first-class degree.”
Reacting to the message, the singer took to social media on Tuesday, tagging the bank and writing:
“Dear @wemabank @alat_ng, when did this start? You’ll be hearing from my people.”
His response has sparked conversations online about originality and intellectual property, with many fans backing the artist’s right to take action.
