I Made My First Billion From Charcoal Business At 21 – King Ochacho

Billionaire businessman King Ochacho has revealed that he made his first billion naira at the age of 21 through a charcoal export business.

Ochacho shared the story while speaking with Nigerian content creator and streamer Peller during a livestream, where he recounted how he started his business career working as an agent for a company involved in exporting charcoal to Chinese buyers.

According to the businessman, his earnings from the business eventually reached N1bn within a period of time.

“I was doing a business called coal business (charcoal), so I got all these Chinese people, and I was an agent to a company to export the coal. So the dividends I got within a period of time for that were one billion”.

After leaving the charcoal business, Ochacho ventured into politics but later withdrew from the political space to concentrate on his businesses and religious commitments.

Explaining his decision to leave politics, he said he was not interested in having political opponents, adding that his main concern was good governance rather than opposition to individuals in government.

“Then later I joined politics, then again I left politics to serve God and do my business.
I am not the type of person who is against anybody. What I want is good governance, so if the person in power can give us everything, I am good. My prayer is to pray for the leader to succeed.

During the livestream, Peller also asked Ochacho whether he had met President Bola Tinubu and other political leaders.

Prompt News reports Ochacho said he had met several prominent figures before describing Tinubu as one of the best politicians he had encountered in his lifetime.

While stressing that he was not campaigning for the President, Ochacho praised Tinubu’s political influence and claimed that he played a role in the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari and other presidents.

“I have seen everybody, and let me tell you something: forget about what is happening, and I’m not here to preach for Tinubu, but Tinubu is one of the best politicians I have seen in my lifetime. He is one of the greatest politicians of all time; forget about all that is happening.
He made Buhari President and other presidents.
