Afro-fusion gospel singer Akinade Ibuoye, popularly known as Gaise Baba, has opened up about his battle with pornography addiction and the struggles he faced in maintaining sexual purity—even though he got married as a virgin alongside his wife.
In an emotional sit-down with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Gaise Baba revealed that he was first exposed to porn at the age of 15, a moment that would later lead him down a path of addiction.

“Yes, I married as a virgin. I and my wife. It took more time, sir, before we find the way. I was 15 when I started watching bad things,” he shared.
He recalled how he made a serious personal vow before marriage, taking what he described as a “covenant of purity” to stay away from sex until his wedding day.
“Now, there’s something you call covenant of purity. Something you come into to say, you’re not going to have s*x, you get married. I just scribble something. I sign it, go to meet the pastor. I’m like, my covenant of purity,” he said.
Despite that commitment, Gaise Baba admitted that he still fell into addiction shortly after signing the vow, highlighting that even with good intentions, it’s easy to stumble without accountability and self-awareness.
“In fact, it was shortly after that I got addicted to porn. I knew that under the right temperature and pressure any man can fall,” he added.
The “El-Gibbor” crooner, who gained major recognition in 2025 with his hit song No Turning Back featuring Lawrence Oyor, said fame came at an unexpected time—just weeks after losing his mother.
“This season everybody’s talking about kicked off like two weeks after my mom passed. Fame came at a point that I was no longer looking it,” he said.
