Galatasaray have intensified their pursuit of Burnley midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, Prompt News Online reports.
The Nigerian-born midfielder only joined Burnley on a permanent transfer from Chelsea last summer but could be set for another move following the Clarets’ relegation from the Premier League.
According to Turkish outlet Türkiye Gazetesi, Galatasaray have returned with an improved proposal after their opening bid was rejected by Burnley.
The Turkish champions are offering a package worth €24 million, comprising a €2 million loan fee and a mandatory €22 million purchase option at the end of the loan spell.
Ugochukwu is reportedly open to leaving Turf Moor in search of top-flight football, with Galatasaray keen to bolster their midfield for the 2026/27 campaign and European competition.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a productive season despite Burnley’s struggles, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
Galatasaray remain optimistic that negotiations with Burnley will progress in the coming days as they push to complete the deal.
