Nottingham Forest head coach Vitor Pereira has praised Taiwo Awoniyi following the striker’s standout display against Chelsea, Prompt News reports.
Awoniyi played a decisive role as the Tricky Trees secured a shock 3–1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday afternoon.
Marking his 100th appearance for Forest, the 28-year-old forward netted twice, scoring once in each half.
He also won a penalty in the 20th minute after being fouled in the box, which Igor Jesus calmly converted.
“He brings everything. Taiwo Awoniyi is a danger player. He is not on the list in the Europa League, but we know he will push the defensive line of the opponents,” Pereira was quoted by vavel.com.
“He runs, attacks the space, holds the ball and this is the kind of spirit and the smile and energy we need in this team.”
The Nigeria international has so far scored four goals, and registered one assist in 14 league appearances for Forest this season.
