Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has dismissed circulating reports on social media alleging that Fuji musician Abass Akande Obesere is her biological father.
The rumour, which gained traction over the weekend, claimed the actress had publicly revealed the relationship after keeping it hidden for years.
Reacting in a video posted on her Instagram page on Monday, Debbie described the claim as false, stressing that she has never had any personal interaction with the singer.
“It is not funny anymore; the news is everywhere. I have never met Obesere before, and you claim I said he’s my biological father? Don’t I look like my father? Am I not my biological father’s replica?” she said.
She firmly rejected the allegation, urging the public to stop spreading misinformation.
“Obesere is not my biological father. Please stop spreading fake news! Stop writing or posting things I never said. Some commentators do not even think well enough to know that these things are fake; they start to throw abuses,” she added.

Prompt News reports the actress also clarified that she never made such claims or any emotional appeal as suggested in the viral reports.
“I’ve never said or written this, nor did I cry out as they claimed. Please stop spreading false news. Bloggers should also post this video the same way they were quick to jump on that misconception,” she said.
