Nigerian music sensation Davido will be recognised at the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia, organisers have confirmed.
The announcement was made through an Instagram post on Thursday, where the Afrobeats star was celebrated for his contributions to global music and African culture.
“We are proud to announce our Summer 2026 honoree: Davido, Honouring Legacy,” the organisers stated.
They credited the singer with helping elevate Afrobeats on the international scene through his music and collaborations.
“Davido has helped bring African music to the forefront of the international stage. Known for his infectious hits, dynamic performances, and cross-cultural collaborations, he has built a sound that transcends borders while staying rooted in his heritage.
“Beyond music, his impact extends into philanthropy and entrepreneurship, inspiring a new generation of artists across the globe,” the statement added.
The ceremony is expected to take place on June 1, 2026, near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Northside Drive.
American rapper Ludacris is also expected to be recognised during the event.
Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, gained widespread fame after the release of his breakout single Dami Duro in 2011 and has since become one of Africa’s leading music exports.
