Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest has delivered a pointed open letter to President Bola Tinubu following the life imprisonment of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced Kanu to life in prison for terrorism, triggering widespread reactions across the country. In his letter, Chief Priest cautioned that Tinubu could face significant political backlash in the Southeast if Kanu remains behind bars.
“President @officialasiwajubat, As Long As MNK Remains In Jail, You Cannot & Will Never Get Up To 10,000 Votes In Southeast Come 2027. I Will Not Lie To You, Papa. As A Friend Of Your Government, I Have No Reason To Whitewash You. MNK Is The Supreme Leader Of Southeast. His Detention Has Caused Us So Much Setback & I’m So Surprised That All Your Useless Ministers From Southeast Can’t Even Tell You The Truth Because They Are All Cowards. None Of Them Has Capacity & Can Do Anything To Make The People Love & Respect You. As For Governors, They Will All Disappoint You Because What Will They Tell Us, Absolute Nothing. Only MNK Release Can Save You,” he wrote.

The socialite went on to criticize Southeast political leaders for their perceived inaction, asserting that only Kanu’s release could secure authentic support for Tinubu in the region.
Prompt News reports he also highlighted Governor Alex Otti as a potential figure who could positively sway public opinion if engaged properly.

Chief Priest also reminded President Tinubu of his personal connection to the presidency, noting that his early support and access to power should inspire decisive steps regarding Kanu’s imprisonment.
