A Confederation of African Football (CAF) delegation led by Head of Competitions Khaled Nassar has arrived in Kenya for a second inspection visit, evaluating the country’s progress in preparing to host the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027.
The visit follows recent PAMOJA Oversight engagements in which Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania reaffirmed their joint commitment to delivering a successful tournament that showcases East Africa as a top sporting and tourism destination while leaving a lasting sports development legacy.
During the visit, the CAF team will review competition venues, training facilities, and supporting infrastructure in Nairobi, then travel to Eldoret to assess Kipchoge Keino Stadium as a possible alternative venue, along with training grounds, accommodation, medical facilities and other tournament infrastructure.
The statement frames hosting AFCON as part of the government’s wider push to grow the sports sector economically , creating youth opportunities, boosting sports tourism, drawing investment and supporting national economic growth.
