Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has remained coy over Kelechi Iheanacho’s future at the club, Prompt News Online reports.
Iheanacho linked up with the Hoops on a one-year deal last summer after arriving as a free agent.
The forward struggled to hit top form early in his spell at the club but eventually endeared himself to the supporters with a string of impressive displays.
The 29-year-old capped off the campaign in style, netting a brilliant goal in Celtic’s 3-0 Scottish Cup final victory at Hampden Park last weekend.
Iheanacho finished the season with nine goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for the Bhoys.
Despite his strong finish to the season, uncertainty still surrounds his future at the club.
“Iheanacho keeps asking me, ‘What do you think, are they going to keep me on?’” O’Neill told The Scotsman. “I have no idea, mate. Don’t ask me, I am not the manager anymore.”
