Veteran television host Krystn Enem has revealed that extreme burnout pushed her to step away from broadcasting at the peak of her career, leading to a break that eventually lasted eight years.
Before her exit, Enem had become a familiar face on Nigerian television through The Krystn Enem Show, which aired on PRTV and later on Africa Magic Urban across DSTV and GOTV. Her relaxed yet engaging interview style earned her acclaim for conversations with top entertainers, including Olamide, Falz, Yemi Alade, Simi, Lolo, Denrele Edun and JJC Skillz.
In a statement obtained by PUNCH Online on Sunday, Enem explained that the decision to pause became unavoidable after years of intense work pressure.
“I took a break because I was tired, mentally, emotionally, physically, psychologically. Everything. I was even financially tired.
” A lot had happened in my life, and I had been working non-stop for almost 10 years. My body just shut down. I couldn’t think,” she said.

Prompt News reports she noted that what started as a short rest gradually stretched into years.
“One week of creative block became two weeks, then a month, then two months. I decided to take six months off, and life just kept happening.
“What was supposed to be a six-month break ended up becoming an eight-year break.”
Reflecting on the period, Enem described it as life-changing, highlighting milestones such as becoming a mother and relocating to the United States.
Now back in the spotlight, she has unveiled a new digital-first podcast titled Conversations with Krystn Enem, available on YouTube and Spotify. The show focuses on self-development, identity, relationships and emotional wellness.
“Growth happens when we start talking. Life moves fast, but here, we slow it down,” she said.
According to Enem, her comeback marks a fresh chapter that blends her broadcasting background with corporate experience gained abroad.
