Zambia forward Rachael Kundananji has expressed confidence in her side’s readiness ahead of Saturday’s crucial Group C clash against defending champions Nigeria at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Prompt News Online reports.
The Copper Queens made a flying start to their campaign with a dominant 6-0 victory over Egypt, while the Super Falcons suffered a surprise 3-2 defeat to tournament debutants Malawi.
Nigeria must claim all three points to keep their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals alive, while a victory for Zambia would secure the Copper Queens a place in the last eight.
Kundananji acknowledged the magnitude of the encounter, describing it as a decisive fixture for both teams, but insisted Zambia are prepared for the challenge.
“We understand it’s not an easy task. It’s a game that will determine both teams’ fate and make things either easier or more difficult. It won’t be an easy match, but we are looking forward to giving our best,” Kundananji told reporters.
The Group C showdown will take place at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 9:00 p.m. Nigeria time.
