A UK court has scheduled June 3, 2025, for the trial of Marcus Monzo, a 37-year-old Spanish-Brazilian man charged with the murder of 14-year-old Nigerian student, Daniel Anjorin.
The Central Criminal Court of England and Wales, known as the Old Bailey, will hear the case following Monzo’s alleged knife rampage in Hainault, North-East London, on April 30, 2024.
Anjorin died from fatal stab wounds to the chest and neck while walking to school.
British media, including Daily Mail UK, reported that Monzo, who refers to himself as a “mystic musician,” was also accused of attacking four other individuals during the same 20-minute incident.
He allegedly used two Japanese-style swords in the assault.
Monzo has denied the murder charge as well as four counts of attempted murder involving Donato Iwule, Sindy Arias, Henry Polania, and Yasmin Mechem-Whitfield.
He also pleaded not guilty to wounding a police inspector, Moloy Campbell, with intent, and to charges of aggravated burglary and possession of a bladed article.
However, he admitted to two counts of possessing offensive weapons—a katana and a tanto katana sword.
The attack reportedly began after Monzo crashed a van into a fence on Laing Close, striking a pedestrian, before launching the knife assault.

Daniel Anjorin was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.
Further legal proceedings are expected at the upcoming trial.
