Reality TV star and entrepreneur Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has revealed why she moved her Guinness World Record attempt for the most makeovers in 24 hours to Lagos, Nigeria, instead of the United Kingdom.
Speaking with influencer Egungun at the Tacha Beauty Festival, the former Big Brother Naija star said her decision was driven by a desire to highlight Nigeria’s creative talent and entrepreneurial energy.
“London won’t give me the vibes I want. I had sponsorship offers from international brands and we initially planned to do it in London. But it always makes sense to carry your country along,” Tacha said.

She explained that the attempt was not just about breaking a global record but also about promoting the vibrancy and potential of Nigeria’s beauty industry.
The 24-hour makeover challenge began on Saturday night in Lagos, with Tacha setting a target of 150 makeovers. By Sunday morning, she had reportedly completed 115 makeovers in 12 hours, already surpassing the previous Guinness World Record of 113 makeovers in a full day.
The record-breaking session is part of the ongoing Tacha Beauty Festival, a three-day celebration running from October 10 to 12, which showcases beauty, culture, and the ingenuity of Nigeria’s creative sector.
