The fifth wife of the late Alayemore Olojudo of Ido-Osun, Oba Tajudeen Aderemi Adedapo, Olori Adeola Adedapo, has petitioned the Osun State Police Command, alleging threats to her life and that of her infant son from some members of the royal family.
In the petition filed through her lawyer, Okobe Najite, Adeola called for the arrest of the late monarch’s first daughter, Dolapo Adedapo, and his fourth wife, Olori Zainab Adedapo, whom she accused of orchestrating the alleged threats.
Adeola said she was universally recognised by palace chiefs and co-wives as the late king’s fifth wife.
She stated that she lived with the monarch until his death on May 17, 2024, and later gave birth to their son, Prince Idris Aderemi Adedapo, on December 8, 2024.
Family members confirmed that the late king had long separated from his first wife—Dolapo’s mother—before marrying Adeola.
The monarch’s younger brother, Alhaji Sulaiman Angulu, explained that the family had been paying Adeola N50,000 monthly to support young Prince Idris, acknowledging the late king’s responsibility for the pregnancy.
He added that proceeds from the sale of certain properties were recently shared among all five wives and their children, with each receiving over N14m.
According to him, the dispute escalated after Adeola and her son were allegedly denied their full entitlement of about N30m, which he claimed was withheld by Dolapo in connivance with Olori Zainab.
Adeola’s petition further alleged that properties worth N250m in the GRA area of Oke-Fia, Osogbo, were sold, with the proceeds allegedly kept by Dolapo.
The petition insisted that tradition requires equal sharing of inheritance among the monarch’s wives since he died intestate.
“Acres of land and other properties were sold recently, and the proceeds were kept in the custody of the first wife’s child, Dolapo.
It should be noted that the late king had separated from Dolapo’s mother long before his demise,” her counsel stated.
The current Alayemore Olojudo of Ido-Osun, Oba Olayinka Jokotola, Ilufemiloye I, was reportedly briefed on the matter to ensure equitable distribution among the widows and children.
Sources said the royal family had been urged to maintain fairness in sharing the late king’s estate.
Confirming the development, the Osun State Police Command said its X-Squad Unit is investigating the petition.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, told DAILY POST on Friday that some of the Oloris reside abroad, which has slowed the investigation, but assured that police enquiries remain active.
