Nigerian rap icon Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide Baddo, has responded to the wave of backlash that trailed his recent comment placing Wizkid as “the greatest Afrobeats artist after Fela.”
His statement, made during a press conference in Toronto, sparked intense debates online, with fans of Burna Boy and Davido pushing back strongly against the ranking.
The discussions quickly spread across social media, creating a heated three-way fan battle.
Reacting on Friday through his X handle, Olamide clarified that everyone is entitled to their own viewpoint.
He noted that the music industry is wide enough for multiple artists to thrive without anyone feeling threatened.
Prompt News reports he stressed that the three major stars being compared are far too secure in their craft to take offense at differing opinions. According to him, this level of maturity is one of the reasons they continue to excel.

In his words: “Honestly, this whole lengthy 3-way conversation is pretty much whatever. You can’t diminish anyone’s greatness, whether they’re A-list, B-list, or anything else. Feel free to believe what you want or support whoever you choose—there’s plenty of room in the sky for everyone.”
Olamide added that Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid are all focused on growth rather than fan arguments, saying:
“However, one thing to remember is that Burna, David, and Wiz aren’t narrow-minded enough to get offended by someone else’s opinion or perspective. That’s part of why they’ve reached where they are today.”
