Nollywood veteran actress Patience Ozokwo, popularly known as Mama G, has declared her support for Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing concerns over Nigeria’s inability to fully utilise its abundant resources.
Ozokwo made her position known at a gathering organised under the banner, “Celebrities for Peter Obi”, where she spoke about the country’s challenges and the need for change.
The actress described Nigeria as a country with enormous potential, arguing that the resources available to the nation could have produced greater development if properly utilised.
“I see this country as a spoiled child,” she said.
She noted that Nigeria had been richly endowed, adding that other countries would have achieved significant progress if they possessed similar resources.
“There is nothing God did not provide for us. Other nations of the world, if they have one quarter of what God has given to us, they will be better than what they are today,” she added.
Prompt News reports Ozokwo also raised concerns about the unequal distribution of wealth, alleging that some Nigerians had accumulated resources that could sustain several generations of their families while many citizens continued to struggle.

“Some people in this country have laid up for themselves for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren,” she said.
Addressing fellow celebrities at the event, the actress urged them to recognise the influence that comes with their public visibility and to use their reputation responsibly.
“Celebrities here, what we have, we have our faces. We have our integrity,” she said.
