In a statement, Addy Awofisayo, YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, highlighted gospel singer Akinade “Gaise Baba” Ibuoye and Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli as standout figures on the platform for 2025.
Gaise Baba dominated the music charts with his uplifting hit “No Turning Back II” featuring Lawrence Oyor. The video, released in mid-May, quickly went viral, amassing over 41 million views in just six months and generating widespread engagement across social media platforms.
