Manchester United beat Liverpool 3-2 at the Old Trafford to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The Red Devils started the game brightly pinning Liverpool to their own half.
Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko struck for United inside the opening 14 minutes.
Liverpool rallied after the break, scoring two quick goals.
Substitute Amad Diallo’s misplaced pass was punished by Dominik Szoboszlai two minutes after the break.
Cody Gakpo levelled the scores following a Senne Lammens blunder.
United’s victory ensured they did the league double over Liverpool for the first time since 2015-16 and secured Champions League football with three games to spare as boss Michael Carrick furthered his case for the long-term role.
