Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has shared an emotional reflection on her life, opening up about her struggles with anger, depression, and emotional pain — and how her faith in God completely turned her life around.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the actress revealed that she experienced seven major battles that nearly broke her, but found peace through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

One of her deepest struggles, she said, was uncontrollable anger, which she admitted once damaged her relationships and professional opportunities.

“There was a time I had a fuse so short it could set everything ablaze. I mistook my pain for strength, but it was only destroying me,” she wrote.

Tonto explained that her journey to healing began when she surrendered her emotions and life to God, allowing Him to calm her spirit and reshape her outlook.

Speaking further, she recalled her experience with depression, revealing that it pushed her to the darkest point in her life.

“I was living as both the wound and the weapon. Depression was my companion; I wore pain like a second skin until God said, ‘Rise,’ and I did,” she confessed.

The mother of one said that her healing process gave her a new sense of compassion and understanding for others who are hurting.

“When I see people acting from a place of pain, I don’t condemn them; I pray for them. I know how it feels to lose yourself while trying to survive,” she said.

As part of her renewed faith, Tonto also shared that she has chosen to embrace celibacy and stay away from sexual immorality.

Looking back on her journey, she added, “I gave my life to Christ after secondary school but took His love for granted. Life humbled me, and through that pain, I returned to my first love, God.”

Dikeh described her new life as a spiritual rebirth that transformed her emotions, mindset, and daily habits — bringing her lasting peace after years of inner turmoil.
