Nigeria’s Falconets started their campaign at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on a positive note following a 1-0 victory over Korea Republic on Monday morning.
Winger Flourish Sabastine’s 86th minute strike separated both teams in the game.
Sabastine slotted the ball home after she was set up by substitute Chukwuamaka Goodness Osigwe.
Germany top Group D on superior goal difference courtesy of their 5-2 win over Venezuela on Sunday night.
Prompt News reports that the Falconets are second in the group behind the former world champions.
Nigeria and Germany will clash at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo, Bogota on Wednesday.
