Nigeria’s Falconets continued their preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a 1-0 victory over hosts Poland in a friendly encounter at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg on Friday.
Mary Mamud grabbed the only goal of the contest in first-half stoppage time to secure the win for Moses Aduku’s side.
Poland pushed for an equaliser after the break, while the Falconets also created opportunities to extend their lead, but neither side was able to find the net in the second half.
The Nigerian girls will next face Korea Republic in another warm-up game at the Remes Resort & Spa Football Stadium on Tuesday, September 1.
The encounter is scheduled to kick off at 4pm local time.
The friendlies form part of the Falconets’ final preparations for the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group F alongside Spain, China PR and tournament debutants New Caledonia.
The Falconets will begin their campaign against Spain on Monday, September 7.
