Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has urged authorities to allow Nigerians the means to defend themselves, following growing concerns over insecurity across the country.
Kadiri made the appeal in a post shared on her social media page on Tuesday, where she expressed frustration over repeated attacks, killings, and what she described as an escalating climate of fear in several parts of Nigeria.
Reacting to the situation, she wrote, “Give us power to defend ourselves.”
Prompt News reports the actress stressed that many citizens feel increasingly vulnerable as violent incidents continue to affect communities, adding that safety should be treated as a fundamental right rather than a privilege.
Her remarks have sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians agreeing with her concerns and calling for stronger security measures from the government.
