Nollywood comedian and content creator, Okemesi, is reportedly in a coma due to complications from medication he received at a hospital, actor Jeff Owolewa, popularly known as Tony Montana, revealed on Monday night via Instagram.
This development comes just two days after Okemesi, whose real name is Bamidele Tope Saint, moved into a new apartment provided by well-wishers. The actor had previously appealed for financial help over two weeks ago after falling ill and becoming homeless.
Jeff Owolewa explained that Okemesi’s condition worsened following treatment at a private hospital that had discharged him last week. Attempts to admit him at other facilities, including a government hospital in Igodo, were unsuccessful due to lack of space.
“Guys, Okemesi has been hospitalised again. He was sleeping all through Saturday and Sunday without having much appetite for food due to complications from the drugs that were given to him from the hospital when he was discharged last week,” Jeff wrote.

“I rushed to his house very early on Monday to take him to hospital. He was rejected in different hospitals including a government hospital in Igodo, the doctor refused to attend to him saying there’s no bed space. I have to take him back to the first private hospital that started his treatment. So they admitted him, and stabilised him.”
Prompt News reports Jeff added that Okemesi is currently on oxygen and urged Nigerians to pray for his recovery while also appealing for financial assistance to support his treatment.
“His breathing is improving. So, he has been in coma since Monday morning. They have placed him on oxygen. We’re all praying that he gets back on track,” he said.
