Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, has issued a fresh warning as he prepares to take legal action against what he describes as a coordinated online assault aimed at damaging his reputation.
In a statement released on Thursday through his communications team, the lawmaker condemned the spread of defamatory videos and publications, noting that the content appears to be “calculated to create a false narrative of persecution to serve ulterior motives.”
According to the statement, Nwoko refuses to be drawn into what he termed “online distractions or fabricated drama,” stressing that his priority remains his legislative responsibilities and ongoing developmental projects. He cautioned that attempts to manipulate public sentiment in favour of “wrongdoers” pose a threat to national values.

Part of the statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to a renewed pattern of online harassment, cyber stalking, and coordinated defamatory videos and publications targeted at Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko. These actions appear calculated to create a false narrative of persecution in order to serve ulterior motives.
“Senator Ned is fully engaged in his legislative, developmental, and business responsibilities and maintains no interest whatsoever in online distractions or fabricated drama. However, when grave allegations are made, they must be addressed in accordance with the law, not through misinformation or emotional manipulation.
“We must caution the public that the growing culture of supporting deviant conduct, shielding wrongdoers, and attempting to weaponize public sympathy is damaging to our national values.”
The statement further revealed that Nwoko has directed his legal team to file petitions with the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of the DSS, and the Cyber Crime Unit of the Nigeria Police Force. Authorities are expected to trace digital footprints and prosecute those behind the alleged cyber-attacks and defamation.
It also urged the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom to be wary of individuals attempting to create “artificial drama around a stable family structure” for personal gain, particularly in asylum-related matters. The statement called for reliance on “verified facts and legal processes” rather than sensational narratives.
Nwoko appealed to Nigerians to ignore defamatory posts circulating online and to allow the legal system to address the matter. He reiterated that he remains committed to his duties and continues to champion due process and accountability.
Prompt News reports the senator’s move signals a firm intention to address the alleged smear campaign both locally and internationally.
