Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo says Taiwo Awoniyi is in a good state following two round of abdominal surgery this week, Prompt News reports.
Awoniyi collided with a post during Forest’s 2-2 draw with Leicester City on Monday.
The Nigeria international was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery afterwards.
The 28-year-old was placed into an induced coma for the second round of surgery to regulate his heart rate.
“He went to surgery and surgery went well, thank God,” the gaffer told a press conference.

“He is on observation now. He is recovering. We are concerned but we are positive.
“It has been very difficult on us and on everybody.”
The Tricky Trees will take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday.
