Flamingos head coach, Bankole Olowookere has talked up his team’s latest victory over Dominican Republic.
The West Africans continued their impressive run at the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup with a 1-0 victory over the hosts on Wednesday.
Shakirat Moshood’s 89th minute winner separated both teams on the day.
The Flamingos, who top Group A with nine points from three games have now scored nine goals and conceded one.
“I’m so happy, I’m happy for myself, happy for the team and happy for the whole of Nigeria,” Olowookere was quoted by FIFA.com.
“We knew in this match we had to manage our energy and strength; these are young girls with many games to play so we had to take it easy.”
Prompt News reports that Nigeria will take on United States of America in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
