Super Falcons interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen has stressed the need for his team to respect Comoros ahead of their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying tie, Prompt News Online reports.
The 10-time African champions will host Comoros in the first leg of their second-round qualifying fixture at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne on Friday (today).
The return leg is scheduled to take place at the same venue next Tuesday.
Comoros head into the encounter on the back of an emphatic performance in the previous round, where they thrashed Sudan 30-0 on aggregate.
Despite Nigeria’s pedigree and the quality of players at their disposal, Eguavoen has cautioned the Super Falcons against taking their opponents for granted.
Eguavoen expressed confidence in his side’s ability to overcome the Comoros challenge, insisting that the team would remain focused on its game plan.
“I believe no team can come here and survive. But we are not looking down on anyone. We’re not looking down on our opponents, really, with all respect. We stick to our game plan and just make sure we deliver,” Eguavoen told reporters.
