Ahead of Nigeria’s first match of the 13th Women’s
Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) against Tunisia’s senior women national team at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on Sunday, Super Falcons arrived their Ibis Casablanca team hotel reserved for them by the organisers of the competition, Confederation of African Football (CAF), Prompt News reports.
This is even as the nine-time African champions are headed to the pitch for their first pre-tournament training session in the bustling City of Casablanca, venue of their three group matches.
Prompt News exclusively gathered that the 24-player roster, technical crew led by the head coach Justine Madugu, and the backroom staff who left the Novotel Mohamedia after breakfast today with Team Nigeria bus arrived Casablanca before lunch time and have settled down for the task ahead.
While in Mohamedia, the Super Falcons took on Ghana’s Black Queens in an international friendly match played at Lanoria Complex in Benslimane which they won 3-1 with Asisat Oshoala, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and captain Rasheedat Ajibade scoring the three goals for Nigeria.
Nigeria’s first match against Tunisia’s at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca will start by 5 pm local time, before other games against Botswana and Algeria in the group phase.
