Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has declared his side ready for battle ahead of the Unity Cup final against Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz, Prompt News Online reports.
Nigeria will face Jamaica for the third time in the final of the invitational tournament at The Valley on Saturday.
The last meeting between both nations in the competition ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation time, with the Super Eagles emerging victorious 5-4 on penalties.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Chelle expressed confidence in his team’s preparedness, insisting they are ready to cope with whatever challenges may arise during the match.
“Penalties are part of the game, and it can decide who wins a match. Every time I go into a game, I have the mentality to win,” Chelle told the thenff.com.
“This is the culture I have put in these boys – the winning culture. I don’t know if Saturday’s game will end in penalties; what I know is that I have prepared my team to win.”
