Former Super Eagles head coach Samson Siasia believes the team can still qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite their precarious situation, Prompt News reports.
Eric Chelle’s side have recorded just one win from six matches in the qualifying series.
The West Africans sit in fourth position in Group C with seven points, while South Africa top the standings on 13 points with four rounds of matches to be played.
Nigeria will be up against Rwanda in a matchday seven encounter in Uyo next week Saturday, and South Africa three days later in Blomfeinteim.
“Everything is still possible, but it’s how to get it done,” Siasia said.
“Both the players and the coach have to now bring their ‘A’ game to these matches and it should be a game at a time, win one and get the confidence for the next one.
“We don’t talk about the other game, we focus on the first game.
“We have the players, but we have to be careful not to concede especially in Nigeria.”
