Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has finally reacted to the renewed dispute involving his twin brother Peter Okoye and elder brother Jude Okoye, saying he will not be drawn into public exchanges over the family matter.
In a statement released on Thursday by his management company, Fire Department Inc., the singer distanced himself from the ongoing controversy, stressing that his attention remains on his music and future projects.
“Fire Department Inc., the official management of Rudeboy, is aware of the ongoing public conversations surrounding recent events involving members of the Okoye family. While we understand the public interest, we believe that personal and family matters are best handled with dignity, respect, and responsibility,” the statement read.
The management said Rudeboy had no intention of engaging in allegations or public commentary that could divert attention from his music and supporters.
“We will not be drawn into an exchange of allegations or commentary that distracts from the work, the fans, and the music. Rudeboy remains fully committed to his craft and deeply grateful for the unwavering support he continues to receive from fans across Nigeria, Africa, and the rest of the world,” it stated.
The statement also thanked fans for supporting Rudeboy’s latest single, Blessed & Alive, featuring Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, while urging the public to avoid speculation.
“Their (fans) encouragement has been instrumental in the growing success of ‘Blessed & Alive’ featuring Sarkodie, and our focus remains on sharing music that inspires, uplifts, and connects people. We respectfully ask our supporters, media partners, and the public to allow space for professionalism and mutual respect,” it added.

“We encourage everyone to avoid speculation and to rely on verified information rather than rumours or online commentary. We sincerely thank everyone who has continued to stream, share, and celebrate ‘Blessed & Alive.’ This is only the beginning, and we look forward to announcing more exciting projects, performances, and milestones in the weeks and months ahead.”
Prompt News reports the statement follows the latest fallout between the Okoye brothers, founders of the now-defunct Psquare music group.
Peter recently accused Jude of withholding part of the revenue generated from the group’s music catalogue, including an alleged unpaid sum of $25,000. He also claimed he was not a signatory to one of the accounts used to collect the group’s royalties.
Jude denied the allegations, maintaining that proceeds from the group’s musical ventures had always been shared equally among the three brothers.
Jude’s wife, Ify Okoye, also weighed in on the controversy, saying she would not “trade accusations or fuel public conflict” and would instead “let God be my witness.”
The Okoye brothers first split in 2017 following disagreements over Jude’s role as their manager before reuniting in 2021 and staging a comeback concert.
However, the group parted ways again in 2024 after Rudeboy accused Peter of orchestrating his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Earlier this year, Peter announced that he had officially changed his birth date to November 30. In recent weeks, he also accused Rudeboy of attempting to tarnish his reputation.
