Fabian Adibe, a veteran Nollywood actor best known for his role in the television adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart, has passed away at the age of 80.
According to his family, the respected actor died peacefully around 2:30 am on Wednesday. They described his passing as both a time of grief and a celebration of a remarkable life and legacy.

Adibe became a household name in 1987 for his portrayal of Ogbuefi Uzowulu in the TV series Things Fall Apart, where he starred alongside Pete Edochie, Justus Esiri, and the late Sam Loco Efe. His unique blend of calmness and powerful on-screen delivery endeared him to audiences for decades.
Before his Nollywood fame, Adibe had already made his mark in the arts by leading Nigeria’s delegation to its first Commonwealth Art Festival in 1965, solidifying his status as a trailblazer in the cultural space.
