Victor Osimhen was on target as Galatasaray staged a remarkable comeback to defeat his former club, Lille, 4-2 on Wednesday night, securing their first victory of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League campaign.
The Turkish champions made a flying start, with Yunus Akgün opening the scoring just two minutes into the encounter.
However, Lille fought back through Soriba Diaoune, who struck twice in the 8th and 39th minutes to put the French side ahead 2-1.
Galatasaray restored parity just before half-time, with Aleksei Batrakov finding the net in the 44th minute after being set up by Roland Sallai to make it 2-2 at the break.
The visitors continued their impressive response after the restart and took the lead in the 52nd minute when Lille midfielder Nabil Bentaleb inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.
Osimhen then sealed the victory in the 61st minute, scoring Galatasaray’s fourth goal to complete a stunning turnaround and cap off an impressive performance against his former side.
