AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze is expected to spend several weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a hip injury, Prompt News Online reports.
The Nigeria international missed Wednesday morning’s training session as the Rossoneri prepared for their UEFA Europa League encounter against Premier League side Bournemouth.
According to Sport Mediaset, Chukwueze is scheduled to undergo a specialist examination today to determine the extent of the injury.
The 27-year-old reportedly suffered discomfort in his left hip, with Milan concerned that the problem could be serious enough to keep him out of action for several weeks or potentially months.
Chukwueze had made a promising start to the season under Ruben Amorim following his return from a loan spell at Fulham.
The winger has registered two assists in eight appearances across all competitions for the Italian giants this season.
His potential absence would represent another blow to Milan, who are already without Belgian midfielder Alexis Saelemaekers following his recent ankle surgery.
Saelemaekers is expected to be sidelined for at least five months, further adding to the club’s injury concerns.
