Omowunmi Aloba, widow of late singer Mohbad, has expressed deep affection for their son, Liam, in a touching birthday tribute shared online.

In her message, she described the child as her “heartbeat” and reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to his happiness and safety.

“Happy birthday to my heartbeat, you mean the world to me Eyinimofeoluwa and I’m so proud to be your parent. I’d walk through fire, cross oceans and do absolutely anything to make sure you are safe and happy.

“I will always be your biggest cheerleader and your safest harbour. I live for your smile and I would do anything to protect you. Happy birthday to the best son I could ever ask for. Love you with all my heart my Lily,” she wrote.

Her message comes amid ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the child’s paternity. A Lagos State Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu had earlier ordered a DNA test to determine whether Liam is the biological son of the late singer.

The order was issued by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga following an application filed by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba.

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away in September 2023 under controversial circumstances, sparking widespread reactions and disputes over his estate and family matters.

Prompt News reports Liam, born in April 2023, has remained at the centre of public attention, with the ongoing paternity case drawing significant interest. Concerns have also been raised by the Aloba family’s legal team regarding the credibility of some laboratories involved in the DNA process.
