Chelsea hero John Mikel Obi has congratulated Liverpool for winning the 2024/25 Premier League title.
Liverpool claimed their 20th Premier League title following a 5-1 thumping of Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday.
Former Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke gave Spurs the lead, but the Reds rallied to win the game through goals from Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, and an own goal from Destiny Udogie.
The win took Arne Slot’s men to 82 points, 15 points above second-placed Arsenal.
Prompt News reports that it was the Reds first league title win since 2020.
Mikel, who won two Premier League titles with Chelsea thumbed up the Merseyside club for their remarkable success.
“Congratulations to Liverpool fc on winning the Premier League trophy,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
