Nigerian dancer and former Big Brother Naija star, Roseline Omokhoa Afije, popularly known as Liquorose, has shared the emotional challenges she faced before finally appearing on the reality show.
In a recent chat with VJ Adams, Liquorose revealed that she had been selected for the 2020 edition of BBNaija and was ready backstage for the launch.
However, despite being fully prepared, she was unexpectedly excluded at the last moment.
“In 2020, I was backstage at the BBNaija opening show. I was dressed up and make up done, but I was not called. That really hurt me,” she recalled.
The setback left her disheartened, and she admitted it nearly made her abandon her dream of joining the show. At the time, both she and fellow aspirant Jaypaul were barred from participating after testing positive for COVID-19.

Though initially hesitant to try again, Liquorose auditioned for the 2021 season after encouragement from a friend.
“That experience was messing with me. So, the following year, I didn’t even want to audition but my friend convinced me to try. I just auditioned and forgot about it. I just went to check my spam one day and I discovered that I have been selected. It was crazy,” she said.
Prompt News reports Liquorose ultimately emerged as the runner-up of the 2021 season, finishing behind Whitemoney, who claimed the grand prize.
