Nollywood star Joke Silva has been comforted by colleagues and fans after announcing the passing of her elder brother.
The actress, who is married to veteran actor Olu Jacobs, took to Instagram to share the sad news that her brother, John Olabiyi Silva, aged 73, had died.

In her tribute, Silva described him as easy-going and prayed for his eternal rest, writing:
“With acceptance of God’s Sovereign will. We announce the call to Glory of my dear brother John Olabiyi Silva, long John Silva. Bros B…Uncle B…. My easy-going, lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22nd, 1953–August 29th, 2025.”
Fans and industry peers have since flooded her page with condolences, expressing solidarity during this difficult time.
