Ayra Starr has opened up about how music changed the course of her life, admitting that without her career in entertainment, she believes she would have been unemployed.
Speaking during a conversation with EE72, the 24-year-old Afrobeats star shared candid thoughts about her personal life, career growth and her journey to success.
According to the singer, she does not see herself pursuing content creation if music had not worked out.
“If I were not doing music, I would literally be unemployed. I do not even think I would be a content creator. That would be a lot of work,” she said.
“I would just be vibing in my mother’s house, eating my mother’s food.”
Prompt News reports the Sability singer also recalled her excitement after learning that Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy had already been paying attention to her music before offering her a deal.
“I was so excited when I found out they were listening to my music. You know who it is,” she said.
Ayra Starr also admitted that public attention sometimes makes her reveal more than she intends.
“I really wish people knew less about me. Once the camera comes on, I cannot stop talking. And I feel like I over share.”
Born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, the singer gained widespread attention after releasing her breakout hit Bloody Samaritan in 2021.
Since joining Mavin Records, she has become one of Afrobeats’ most prominent voices, earning several awards and industry recognition.
