Nigerian culinary sensation Hilda Baci has once again etched her name in the global record books after officially receiving her second Guinness World Record plaque. The award recognises her remarkable feat of preparing the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
The record, confirmed by Guinness World Records, credits Baci for cooking a staggering 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of the popular West African dish during a special cookout event held in Lagos last September.
This latest recognition arrives just a year after her first Guinness honour for completing a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon in May 2023 — a performance that earned her international fame and admiration. With both titles, she now stands as Nigeria’s first chef to hold two Guinness World Records.
Celebrating the accomplishment on Instagram, Baci shared photos of her plaques while expressing deep gratitude for what she described as a journey driven by faith and determination.
“Our plaques are finally here !!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria,” she wrote.
She added that her new title symbolised the power of passion and purpose, saying, “Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves, a story that reached over five billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me.”

Prompt News reports Baci also drew inspiration from Isaiah 61:7, describing her experience as proof that perseverance leads to “a double portion” of success and joy.
The massive jollof rice cookout attracted an estimated 20,000 guests, including celebrities, food enthusiasts, and influencers. In compliance with Guinness verification procedures, every serving from the enormous pot was distributed to attendees and charitable groups.
