World Cup-bound Portugal ended the Super Eagles’ 12-match unbeaten run with a 2-1 victory in their final warm-up game in Leiria on Tuesday night, Prompt News Online reports.
The hosts, ranked fifth in the world, took the lead in the 23rd minute through Pedro Neto.
Nigeria, who are 21 places below Portugal in the FIFA rankings, fought back to level the score six minutes before halftime, with Jerome Akor finding the net.
Adams, who overpowered Manchester City star Ruben Dias was teed up by Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
However, substitute Francisco Conceição struck 15 minutes from time to hand Portugal the win and condemn the Super Eagles to their first defeat in 13 matches.
The Super Eagles will now shift attention to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers which will commence in September.
