Nollywood actor Femi Branch is at the centre of controversy following claims that he assaulted a First Assistant Director (1st A.D) on a movie set.
The National Film Crew Community (NFCC), in a public statement, revealed that the incident occurred on Wednesday when the 1st A.D reportedly questioned why filming had started in the absence of both the Assistant Director and Director of Photography.
The actor allegedly took offence and responded by verbally abusing and slapping the crew member.

The reported action caused immediate tension on set, with other crew members halting production in support of their colleague. Branch attempted to leave the location but was stopped by the team and asked to apologise before filming could proceed.
Calm was restored after he reportedly apologised, and the shoot resumed under the guidance of the same Assistant Director involved in the dispute.
Footage from the scene has since made its way online. In the video, Femi Branch is seen walking toward his vehicle while being confronted by a senior figure on the production team, believed to be the director. During the exchange, the actor appeared visibly upset, accusing the director of failing to maintain order and also threatening to report the estate’s security guard who denied him exit.
“I respect them. I don’t relate to them as my juniors. I’m one of the people that fight for crew members and the way crew members are treated. Ask anybody in Nollywood,” Branch stated at the estate gate.
In response, the NFCC applauded the production team’s collective stance, highlighting their refusal to tolerate any form of aggression.
“We commend the entire production crew for standing firmly against violence and upholding respect and integrity on set,” the organisation said.
