Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has suggested that the long-running tension between fans of Wizkid and Davido plays a key role in sustaining the dominance of both artists in the Afrobeats scene.
Speaking during a conversation with YouTuber Korty EO, the rapper explained that rivalry among fanbases helps keep top acts in constant public discussion, even long after their peak years.
According to him, the ongoing online clashes between supporters of the two music heavyweights contribute significantly to their lasting influence.
He said, “Wizkid and Davido can never fade. That hatred is the reason why they will be relevant forever. When they love each other, it is over.”
The “Like Ice Spice” crooner further emphasized that competition is essential in the music industry, noting that it fuels visibility and engagement.
He added that artists may coexist peacefully, but rivalry among fans is what keeps the spotlight alive.
